Huaqing Jin (金华清)

I am Huaqing Jin. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Tsinghua University (since September 2025).

Before that, I was a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UCSF (March 2024–September 2025), supervised by Dr. Fei Jiang and Prof. Chiung-Yu Huang. Earlier, I was a postdoctoral scholar in computational neuroscience at UCSF (July 2022–March 2025), working with Dr. Fei Jiang and Prof. Ashish Raj in the Brain Networks Laboratory with Prof. Srikantan Nagarajan.

I obtained my PhD in statistics under Dr. Fei Jiang and Prof. Guosheng Yin at the University of Hong Kong (2018–2022) and my B.S. in statistics from Zhejiang University (2014–2018).

Research interests

Methodologies: Bayesian methods, high-dimensional statistics, change-point detection, deep generative models, conformal prediction.

Application areas: Neuroimaging data analysis in Alzheimer’s disease; Bayesian clinical trial design in oncology.

  • 2025-11: Our paper “High-dimensional inference for functional regression with an application to the Alzheimer’s disease magnetoencephalography study” has been accepted for publication in Biostatistics.

  • 2025-09: I joined the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Tsinghua University as a tenure-track assistant professor.
